Surgical dental procedures we offer xo

01 — Tooth removals, including wisdom teeth

  • Erupted, impacted, unerupted, badly broken down teeth, tricky curved roots, or those located a bit too close to important nerves or spaces: the teeth that your regular dentist doesn’t want to take out for you, but can be safely removed in the dental chair

02 — Dental implants

  • Single or multiple surgical implant placement, for when your regular dentist prefers to focus on restoring the crown or bridge, and your smile

03 — Reshaping the jaw bone and gums, ready for new teeth and smile makeovers

  • So you can successfully wear your new dentures or implant teeth comfortably

  • Grafting - bone and gums - is the term for bulking up mouth tissues for improved aesthetics and function, or so that an implant can be placed

  • Alveoplasty - the fancy name for tooth bone reshaping procedures

  • Vestibuloplasty - the proper term for procedures involving reshaping the soft tissue between the teeth and the lips, but not the gums around the teeth

  • Flabby ridge reduction - procedures that reshape the gum over the jaw bone where teeth used to be, so that dentures or implants can be fitted

  • Osteotomy - sinus lifts are the most common type to create space for an implant in the upper jaw

04 — Mouth trauma management*

  • Emergency care and treatment for damage done to soft tissues of the mouth or broken teeth, after an accident, or a hit to the head

  • * For facial trauma, broken or fractured jaws or skulls, please go to a hospital ASAP for management by a Maxillofacial Surgeon

  • * If concussed or you’ve experienced a loss of consciousness, please see a Medical Doctor first

05 — Removal of mouth tissue growths

  • Get rid of annoying lumps or bumps in your mouth

  • Biopsies - removal and investigation of some mouth tissue that looks suspicious or unhealthy

  • Excisions - removal of excess mouth tissue that’s hindering comfort, aesthetics, function, or health

06 — Tongue tie and frenum releases*

  • Frenectomy or frenuloplasty - the fancy name for repositioning oral muscle attachments to your lips or tongue to help you swallow, talk, or chew better

  • * For those 12 years and older only - for younger people, please see a specialist paediatric dentist

07 — Mouth and jaw pain care

  • Combining evidence-based Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture knowledge, along with established dental techniques, may help provide relief and improvement in orofacial pain symptoms when other options haven’t

  • TMJ - temporomandibular joint pain management

  • Facial paraesthesia, neuralgia, or palsy - nerve damage can lead to changes in sensation, or facial muscle tone and function. These are best managed ASAP for optimal recovery, but some improvements may often be achieved later in some cases

  • Jaw muscle spasm - aka trismus or lockjaw management

08— Happy gas (nitrous oxide) or oral sedatives*

  • To help maximise the comfort of your in-chair oral surgery procedure - of course, you’ll be completely numb too!

  • Helps to reduce your dental anxiety during the treatment

  • * Subject to health history suitability

09 — IV Sedation*

  • Provided by an experienced medical or dental Sedationist

  • Reduces your awareness and memory of having the surgical dental procedure completed - especially helpful for highly dentally anxious people without the need for a full GA (general anaesthetic)

  • * Subject to health history suitability and service location
